Computational Knowledge Engine

This free tool is incredibly powerful.  It provides but a glimpse into what computer technology can and will do in the future.

You are encouraged to try this unique research tool for yourself and see the difference between a standard search engine and a computational knowledge engine like WolframAlpha.

I’m fairly certain you have not heard of Wolfram Alpha.  But Bing is using their technology, so that should tell you something…

Unsure about what to type in?  Here are a few examples you might try:

  • Enter any date (e.g. a birth date) june 23, 1988
  • Enter any city (e.g. a home town) new york
  • Enter any two stocks IBM Apple
  • Enter any calculation $250 + 15%
  • Enter any math formula x^2 sin(x)

Here’s another one of Google’s free offerings.

Finally, tools are being developed that generate results more in line with how people think - spatially, graphically.  Not merely in a linear fashion.  This tool is pre-loaded with only 145,000 words, but that should be enough to get the average person’s thinking process going.
